We’ve been in business since 1999 and we’re well-known for our radio advertising expertise, but over recent years’ we admit that video has caught our interest because audio/video go hand in hand.

With a dedicated studio in Lockwood Park, Huddersfield, we now feature a green room for business people to create your very own film set.

So if you want to create video with an impressive background, we can feature you almost anywhere in the world! If you’re a travel agent, why not showcase your services on an inviting beach or perhaps you have a hard hitting update to share, in which case we can transport you to a TV news room –the world is literally at our fingertips!

Krishna Patel of Huddersfield-based accountants Revel Ward has previously used our video services to create a light-hearted animated video (we know, our talent is endless!) and here’s what she had to say about us:

We're delighted to have been contracted to license two songs from both Universal and Sony to produce radio commercials for UK carpet, flooring and bed company, United Carpets and Beds for a year.

We have worked with the Rotherham-based firm for four years. Following a successful relationship which has seen United Carpets and Beds growth in pre-tax profit to 29% this year, the second largest chain of specialist retail carpet and floor covering stores in the UK has attributed much of their success to their strong marketing presence, which includes radio, produced by Absolute Media.

Alex of Absolute Media (UK) Ltd spoke to Universal who own the music, and Sony, who own the songs for M People’s ‘moving on up’ and Lisa Stansfield’s ‘all around the world’ to help promote the parent business and World of Bedz, their subsidiary firm.

We recently attended and presented at The Bolton Expo on how radio is the original social media. The presentation was well received and so we thought we’d write a blog advising just what we mean.

We know it’s a bold claim. But we truly believe that Facebook, LinkedIn and Twitter are just new ways of doing what radio does every day.

For local businesses, radio may be the single most effective social media you can use to promote your business. Why? Because you can use social media to build your brand with radio by:

·       Aligning your website address with your business name

·       Use radio to brand your business in the minds of consumers

·       Harness the power of social media

·       And make sure to back up what you’re offering (The greatest advertising in the world won’t keep customers coming back to a restaurant that serves mediocre food, has unfriendly staff and a poor atmosphere)

So what do we mean by integrate radio with your social media marketing? Integrated campaigns are most effective to:

·       Increase reach

·       Turn passive listening into action (turn a potential customer sat in traffic listening to radio into an engaged lead when they are encouraged to Tweet to enter a competition)

·       Create a two-way conversation; offer the chance for customers to feedback and become brand advocates

·       Gain useful information on your consumers

Make consumers remember you with an interesting call to action. This could be via a competition, leading listeners to your social media pages/hashtags to win prizes, just as we have done with our #JuneJingle competiton.

As we say, we presented this to The Bolton Expo following their campaign which we produced and organised for them on Tower FM. To give you an idea as to just how cost effective radio advertising is, this campaign was as follows:

·       69 x 30 second spots

·       36,000 reach

·       111,000 impact (pairs of ears)

·       3.1 OTH (opportunities to hear)

And the total cost to run this campaign? Just £200! To fully produce this commercial from our Lockwood Park, Huddersfield studio, we charge just £130. That’s a grand total of just £330 to write, produce, edit and run the campaign over two weeks on a leading radio station!
